Hey Applicants! Welcome to Maryland Leadership Workshops!
What is MLW all about?
Maybe the best thing about MLW is that it is not like school. MLW isn’t even like other summer camps you may have attended! MLW is your own personal quest. It is a chance for you to discover who you are –how you interact, lead and influence other people – and think about who you will become.
At MLW,we refer to participants as ‘delegates’ who come from all over the state to embark on this unique experience. As an MLW delegate, you will spend a week getting to know new people and discussing issues important to Maryland’s youth. Leadership skills are a vital part of everyday life and our program is designed to develop those skills in order for you to become a stronger leader in your own life at school, home, and in your community.
Much of each day will be spent:
- Learning leadership and management skills in hands-on workshops,
- Practicing and expanding new skills during team time, and
- Planning and implementing activities for the week-long program in committees.
We also leave time for recreation and fun organized activities, including speak outs and variety showcases!
Our phenomenal staff works countless hours throughout the summer to make sure that every part of your week will be engaging and challenging. They work with you throughout the week to make sure you learn more about leadership and have ample opportunities to practice your newly acquired skills.
MLW runs three CORE programs:
